Rotary 60,000 Meal Pack

Rotary Clubs in the North West and Rise Against Hunger are joining forces in the fight against hunger. More than 200 volunteers, Rotarians and community groups will pack 60,000 meals for the world's hungry on 14th April 2019 at Glossopdale School, Hadfield, Glossop.

Rise Against Hunger meal packing events are volunteer based programmes that package highly nutritious dehydrated meals, comprised of rice, soya, vegetables and 23 essential vitamins and minerals.

The Rotary International theme for 2018/19 is "We are people of action". Paul Scullion, President of Glossop Rotary said "We could not think of a better way for our club to demonstrate our commitment than to package 60,000 meals which will feed hungry people in the third world. This event brings our club, other Rotary clubs and the community as a whole, together to celebrate what Rotary does best, Service Above Self.

This will be the 4th Rotary sponsored Rise Against Hunger meal packing event in our District.

Rise Against Hunger gets food and life-saving aid to the world's most vulnerable people, and works to end global hunger in our lifetime. Established in 1998, they have provided over 225 million meals in 73 countries.
