I agree to this Release and Waiver for Volunteer Activities ("Release and Waiver") and agree to participate in a volunteer community activity sponsored by Glossop Rotary Club that may include loading and unloading pallets of food packaging materials, preparing a room for packaging activities, packaging food in an assembly-line system, cleaning-up the packaging room, and other similar activities (the “Volunteer Activity”).

My time and service as a volunteer are given without promise, expectation or receipt of any form of compensation or benefits from Glossop Rotary Club. The opportunity to contribute my time and talent to Glossop Rotary Club is one that satisfies my personal desire to give something back to the community.

I assume full responsibility for risk of bodily injury to myself or damage to my property in connection with the Volunteer Activity. I agree to defend fully and to indemnify Glossop Rotary Club in any claim that may be made against it, or its officers, employees, agents or affiliates for any injury or damage, personal or otherwise, to Glossop Rotary Club or any third party arising in any way from my actions during the Volunteer Activity.

I consent and authorise Glossop Rotary Club to use and reproduce in any form, style or colour any photographs, videos, or other likeness of me taken in my capacity as a volunteer and circulated for purposes consistent with Glossop Rotary Club's mission. I hereby release and forever discharge Glossop Rotary Club, its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, rights, promises, damages and liabilities arising out of or in connection with the use or distribution of said photograph, video or other likeness, including without limitation any claims for invasion of privacy, appropriation of likeness, or defamation.

I have read this Release and Waiver, and I understand its contents. This Release and Waiver will be binding upon me and my family, estate, heirs, legal representatives, and assigns.

Food Safety Instructions

  1. Food Safety is important because we are preparing meals for people who are malnourished, undernourished, and sick. We want to ensure that we are sending the food that makes them healthy.
  2. First step is putting on a hairnet or baseball cap – make sure all hair is covered. Beard nets are available.
  3. Next step is washing your hands with a hand wipe. Make sure to scrub all surfaces of your hands and wrists for 20 seconds.
  4. Once hands are clean, if you touch anything that is unsanitary like your cell phone, hairnet, or purse or if you cough and sneeze, you must re-sanitize. If you use the toilet make sure to wash your hands and re-sanitize.
  5. If you are chewing gum, please drop it in the waste basket before you wash your hands.
  6. No food or open beverage containers in the meal packaging area.
  7. Those that scoop the ingredients, or weigh the meal bags need to wear single-use food service gloves. The single-use gloves are just like a pair of clean hands, if you touch anything unsanitary or use the bathrooms, throw the gloves away and get a new pair.
  8. All volunteers must remove jewellery like watches, bracelets, rings with the only exception being plain wedding bands. We don’t want the jewellery to accidentally contaminate the food, or end up in a meal bag.
  9. If you have been sick in the last 2 days please speak to a Rise Against Hunger Staff person before we get started.
